Holiday Rental House
An Airidh is a recently refurbished converted croft house where we have enjoyed holidays for over 30 years. I hope others will be able to too. Upstairs there is one double and two twin singles as well as a family bathroom with bath and shower. Downstairs are two sitting rooms; one with an an open fire, the second with a sofa bed and second TV. The kitchen is fully equipped and there is a downstairs loo and small utility room with washing machine and dryer. The house is conveniently situated near Lochinver and the white sandy beaches at Achmelvich. It provides a great base for exploring this exceptional area with its unique mountains, numerous lochs, rivers and rugged coastline. It is good for walking, climbing, trout and salmon fishing, deer stalking, cycling, water sports and paint...An Airidh is a recently refurbished converted croft house where we have enjoyed holidays for over 30 years. About the neighbourhood
2 miles from the town of Lochinver for shops, restaurants, cash machine, sports centre, hotels 1 ½ miles from the beautiful white sandy beaches at Achmelvich Lots of fantastic routes for walking, climbing and cycling Near the North West Highlands Geopark, which has stunning mountain landscapes, clean sandy beaches, ancient settlements, thriving communities. It offers one of the best opportunities to explore wild places in Europe. On the Drumbeg loop of the North Coast 500 route. Experienced climbers can tackle the distinctive sandstone peak of Suilven.
How to get there
Head north on the A9 from Inverness and then take the A835 to Ullapool. From Ullapool take the A835 and A837 to Lochinver. Just before Lochinver turn right onto the B869, signposted Stoer and Drumbeg. After about a mile there is a small bridge. Do not turn left to Achmelvich here, but keep on the main road to the right. An Airidh is on the right less than a 1/4 mile after the bridge. If you go up a long, long hill you have missed the house! Nearest airport is Inverness. Nearest train stations are Garve and Lairg. Buses from Ullapool run term time only.
