Brilliantly located for exploring County Durham and the North East, Heart of Lanchester is a super little cottage with plenty of character. Heart of Lanchester is a cosy cottage dating back to the early 1900s and occupies a great position with an uninterrupted view of the village green and church. The bedroom, bathroom and single WC are located upstairs. The living room faces east and enjoys sunshine in the morning; the kitchen/dining area and back patio faces west and is a lovely suntrap in the evening. Also a great little spot for guests who enjoy walking and cycling, there are many public footpaths that pass through Lanchester and a very popular walk along the banks of the River Browney. Lanchester is only a half an hour drive away from the beautiful hills and countryside of both Weardale and Teesdale and the Northumberland National Park, and Hadrian’s Wall can be reached in just under an hour. For keen cyclists, the Derwent Valley Railway path is close by and heads east towards the outskirts of Durham, as well as the Waskerley Way cycle path which heads west towards the open countryside of Weardale. There is a secure lock up for bikes. Just a short drive away from the cathedral city of Durham, guests will find Heart of Lanchester the perfect location for visiting friends and family who are studying at Durham University. Perfect for graduation ceremonies, taster weeks and just checking out the area, the university campuses are all within a 10-mile radius from the cottage. More
