Me, my wife and 2 small children spent a weekend here and the quality of the property is amazing. We had a very comfortable few days at Fox Flat whilst visiting Castle Douglas. The flat is well positioned in the centre of the town with handy parking around the corner just outside the police station! We had one or two glitches which were very quickly sorted by Estelle. The town itself is known as the 'Food Town' and is renowned for its independent retailing. King Street is the main thoroughfare with lots of butchers, Delis, coffee shops and restaurants. Favourites are Designs Cafe and In house for a quality coffee. In terms of dining out there are many options from good bar food to Italian (Carlos), Indian (Jewel in the Crown), Chinese (Jade Palace and take away Great Wall). There are plenty of pubs/ hotels and the Sulwath Brewery is worth a visit for a sample of locally brewed beers.

Foxflat is at 105 King Street Castle Douglas DG7 1LZ and is situated opposite the post office and above Foxhat and Moda jewellery close to the junction with Academy Street. There is free car parking on Academy Street. The car parking on King Street is restricted to 1 hour only between 9-5pm (except Sunday).

The town is accessible from the A75 between Dumfries (18 miles) and Stranraer (55 miles) and is also accessible via the Galloway Tourist Route (GTR) A713 from Ayr (50 miles).

From Dumfries

Follow signs for the A75 and take the turnoff for Castle Douglas/ Dalbeattie onto the A75. Take the third exit at the first roundabout after Tesco and carry straight down King Street. FOXFLAT is on the left.
