Fisherman's Lodge occupies a totally idyllic setting at the end of a track, overlooking Fonthill Lake. The surrounding land, which forms part of the Fonthill Estate, offers superb walking, either along the perimeter of the lake just below or across fields to the nearby village of Tisbury. The lodge itself has been thoughtfully designed and provides spacious accommodation in a contemporary style. Four sets of double doors at the front open out onto a large, paved terrace and flood the open-plan living area with natural light.

This cottage is in a really quiet, secluded corner - just as the photos show it. It is down a farm track, off a small road, with no passing traffic at all. You can walk in the woods & beside the lake. The cottage has real character. The area is lovely with so much to see - we travelled to various places including Stonehenge / Avebury / Bath / Salisbury / Stourhead / Shaftesbury. The only minor point to note in the cottage - the twin bedroom has an open staircase off the main room downstairs, with no door, meaning that if you have children in that room you have to consider the noise level.

Additional amenities & feature info
Entrance into an impressive, open-plan, double-height living room with exposed timberwork and comprising a sitting area with wood-burning stove, and dining and fitted kitchen areas at either end of the room. The ground floor also has a bathroom/wc with shower attachment to the bath and a cloakroom/wc. Two staircases, again at either end of the living room, lead up to two cosy bedrooms, both with sloping ceilings – one having a 5ft double and the other twin beds.

This part of Wiltshire, close to the border with Dorset, offers outstandingly beautiful countryside with plenty of opportunities for outdoor activities - good cycle routes, riding stables, excellent game and coarse fishing and several, challenging golf courses.
