Grimblethorpe is a charming hamlet six miles from the market town of Louth, and approx. 40 minutes drive from the City of Lincoln with its wonderful cathedral and castle, where one of the original copies of the Magna Carte is displayed.dolden sandy beaches are also available within approx. 30 -40 mins, with a dog friendly beach or 2 available all year round The hamlet of Grimblethorpes' name is derived from the Norman Knight Grim, and it is thought that this is where he had his thorpe or settlement as quantities of stone implements, dugout canoes and gold ornaments have been found. Legend has it that the Knight is buried in the tumulus on the hill, now known as Grim’s Mound. More
