1 Bedroom , 2 Bathrooms , Sleeps 2
Stockland, Honiton, Devon, England
A new listing. Come and enjoy this idyllic, 18th Century, one bedroomed, cottage set in ¾ acre of tranquil gardens. When you are feeding the birds (seed provided) the chickens will be quick to notice as well! But you will have the benefit of fresh eggs for breakfast. If you are looking for a place to escape from the ‘madding crowd’ then Lane End Cottage is your ideal location. Secluded enough to give you peace and quiet but only 5 miles away from civilisation should you need to see people! There is plenty to do with Sidmouth, Seaton and Lyme Regis only a short drive away, or venture onto Dartmoor National Park (1hr) to experience the wilder side of Devon.

Lovely cottage which had everything you need. Many places to visit, we enjoyed Sidmouth & Lyme Regis. Also there are National Trust places nearby. Each day we came back to a warm cottage where we could relax and enjoy watching the birds in the garden....More

About the neighbourhood
On your doorstep are a number of footpaths to help you explore the local area with a turberry(common land) opposite where you may be lucky if you are stood at the kitchen window to see deer. It is essential when coming to Devon to try one of our famous cream teas and you do not need to go much further than just over the brow of the hill to Royal Oak Farm where you can sample both a cream tea and pick your own fruit for desert. In the field next to the house are two pairs of nesting buzzards and these can be both seen and heard souring on a sunny day. We are very happy for you to wander around the garden and enjoy the many varieties of cottage garden flowers, pick your own raspberries (as generally once they start we can't eat them quick enough!!) and stand and stare at the fish, newts... more

How to get there
Airport: Exeter: 31.0 km
Railway: Honiton: 8.0 km
Ferry: Weymouth: 65.0 km
We have had a few visitors whose SATnav has sent them down some VERY narrow lanes and not the direct route to get here.
Directions from A303 to Exeter. Once you go around a very sharp left bend follow the road go past 303 American diner and petrol station on your left. Look out for car dealership on your left just after this take left turn signposted to Stockland. Come along that road - we call it 7 mile straight - at the second crossroads turn left also signposted to Stockland. Start to come down the hill and at First crossroads turn left again. There is a postbox on the corner. Follow this lane - watch out for pot holes - you will pass a green triangle of grass on your right, just past this the road splits into three, a sharp turn left and you will see a sign that says Lane End.
