Wonderful place - highly recommended
This apartment is just wonderful. The view is the best of it, it is just amazing. And then everthing inside: Not luxurious, but spacious for a couple, and very practical. You find everything you need, even for an extended stay. The hosts are wonderful people, very helpful and generous, and we felt really at home. I only can recommend this place and would definitely come back.

Beautiful place, beautiful people
Our stay in Capetown got off to a bad start when our luggage didn't arrive on our flight. I'm so glad we were staying at Sea Fever when that happened because no host could have been more helpful and accommodating than Heath. Thanks to Heath we actually got to get out some and enjoy the beautiful, uncrowded beach at Glencairn rather than being prisoners waiting for the delivery to arrive. Heath took us on a magnificent tour of Cape Peninsula National Park, and it was one of the truly magical days of my life. Heath is so knowledgeable and so generous with his knowledge. He's a licensed South Africa tour guide but what he shares with you is his love of his country. It wasn't long at Sea Fever before we were planning a return trip. The house is spacious, with wall to wall views of the beach and sunrise. It's comfortable and no-fuss, with tile floors that don't mind wet sandy footprints. (And Heath leaves a basin for your feet and sandals by the door and changes the water for you!) We truly felt like long-term residents rather than visitors. Glencairn is an extremely quiet, peaceful, not-over-developed haven on the Cape. You won't find expensive shops and restaurants, nor will you find huge crowds and accompanying noise. To me, it felt like my father's tiny fishing village on the coast of France - quiet, rustic, peaceful. We got to know Heath and his wife and children during our stay and I can honestly say, they became our very first friends in South Africa. We have grown to love Capetown and Sea Fever and Heath were a huge part of that. We have never been this far from home, but felt we found a new home here.

Friends indeed!! Ken and Robert were truly sincere and enthusiastic about everything they experienced while staying at Sea Fever. We would definitely call them "locals" as they embraced swimming in the sea a number of times a day, sometimes at 5am!! Thank you for your extremely kind review of our spot. As the poet john Masefield wrote, "I must down to the seas again......."

Just perfect...ahhhh.
We traveled to South Africa for two weeks on vacation as respite from our Canadian winter weather. In staying at the Sea-Fever cottage we were seeking substantial "beach time" for ocean swimming as well as some "lazing about." We were thrilled to find a lovely beach just a few steps away and indeed we "lazed about" for days on end. Our visit to the Sea-Fever Cottage proved to be as relaxing as it was rejuvenating --- which is exactly what we were hoping for. This cottage is superbly managed by Heath and Belinda who live next door. It provides for privacy yet Heath and Belinda are close by in case there are needs or questions as a visitor to the small Glencairn community. It is a quiet location (near the end of a dead-end street, so virtually no car traffic as such) with a small grocery store as well as a few restaurants within easy walking distance. The Metro train station into Cape Town is also a short walk from the cottage and this train provides very inexpensive travel to Cape Town under a frequent service schedule. The view from the cottage is full ocean view and we always had the sliding doors open so that we could fully appreciate the amazing view as well as receive those welcome ocean sounds and breezes. The community is also very quiet at night and we rested very well. In summary --- this was an absolutely perfect vacation rental and we are already planning a return visit!

Wunderbar!

Superb water views in a tranquil setting
My wife and I spent 2 months at this comfortable apartment. It is quiet (located at the end of a cul de sac), and the views of the ocean are incredible, especially sunrise. Heath and Belinda are great hosts, Heath can arrange tours if you like, we drove the garden route by ourselves, following tips from him, which were invariably excellent. Can't recommend this place enough!

Moring sun mixed with the smell of the sea
After having endured nearly 4 month of cold wintery conditions in Europe is was a blessing to be woken up by the sun rays and the smell of the sea breeze. Breakfast was consumed standing and viewing the panorama. Even the odd windy day could not spoil the our stay. The shower is quite a blast and the sliding door locking system is very unique. Our12 day stay was very comfortable and we would happily come back to stay there again.

Perfect
We stayed for 4 nights over Christmas and we couldn't have chosen anywhere more perfect. Heath was absolutely brilliant with everything from booking, making enquiries on our behalf and giving us some local guidance. The apartment itself was in great condition and incredibly spacious. The kitchen had everything we needed and my partner LOVED the power shower! It was great to wake up to beautiful sea views knowing that the beach was less than 5 minutes walk away. It was a truly special place in a great location. We couldn't have asked for more and hope we get to go back soon!

Close to Eden?
Our 4th visit and, hopefully not our last, although we are now getting ancient (80 and 78)! We went into raptures on our first visit of only 4 nights and had to return, usually for 10 nights. The picture windows give a front-seat view of what's happening in False Bay - bathers, wind-surfers, wave riders, yachtsmen/women and WHALES! Plus the eternal peaceful view of sea and distat mountains. With all the ameneties, we wanted for nothing - but if we did, Heath and Belinda were always so helpful.

Spectacular!
Astonishing views of False Bay from both the bedroom and the living room. Very spacious quarters. This turned out to be the ideal place for us. The best part was the owner, Heath, who was accommodating and helpful in every way possible. He went way beyond our expectations. Perfect location. We brought bicycles, so between bicycling and using the train (which stops very close to the house), we were able to explore Cape of Good Hope, visit the penguins at Boulders, and my husband got a chance to bicycle over Chapman's Peak.

Best Decision We Made
We stayed at Heath and Belinda's seaside apartment for more than two weeks in January 2013. The accommodations exceeded our expectations in every way! We arrived after a 24 hour delay due to a canceled flight from Canada, and Heath could not have been more kind or helpful. The views from the apartment were stunning, with sliding glass doors looking out to the mountains and ocean from both the bedroom and the living room. The unit was extremely spacious and comfortable, with all the amenities you could hope for, and plenty of privacy. Parking was no problem, and we always felt safe in the apartment and the area. We could walk down to the beach in Glencairn, take a 5-minute drive to the town (and beach) of Fish Hoek, or a 10-minute drive to restaurants and shopping in Kalk Bay (also easily accessible by local train). We also thoroughly enjoyed exploring other areas like Simon's Town (where we visited a penguin colony), the Chapman's Peak drive, Hout Bay, and Cape Town, which was only half an hour away. Having a beautiful, clean, welcoming place to call home during our vacation helped us to enjoy our trip to the fullest. We cannot wait to return on our next trip!

How to get there
From the airport, follow the signs for N2 (National road) to Cape Town. You will follow this road all the way till you basically reach the foot of the mountain. Look out for the M3 Muizenberg exit to the left which will take you past UCT (University of Cape Town). Stay on the M3 which will take you through various traffic intersections (but just go straight.) Eventually the M3 ends in a T Junction where you will turn right at the traffic lights. Stay in the left lane and as you approach the next set of traffic lights after approximately 400m (Virgin Active Gym will be on your right), take the left slip exit to Westlake Golf course and Boyes Drive. Keep left at the circle and drive past Westlake Golf Club on your left until you reach another T Junction. Turn right into Boyes Drive. Follow this road until you reach Main Rd in Kalk Bay. Turn right at the traffic lights and follow Main Rd to Fish Hoek. Go through Fish Hoek on Main Road until you reach the traffic circle. Take the Left exit signposting Simonstown. This will bring you to Glencairn after approx. 3km. As you enter Glencairn, drive straight through the traffic lights for approx 400m where there is a bridge crossing the Else River on a bend in the road. Start indicating to turn Right as you cross the bridge as there is a short, steep road up the mountainside called Squire Road. At the top of Squire Road, you will turn Right again into Hopkirk Way. It is a Cul de Sac and we are number 62 Hopkirk Way, the last house on the left hand side. My wife and I will be there to greet you and hand over the keys as we live next door. Depending on traffic, this trip should take between 45min and 1 hr.
