Hoedspruit is known as South Africa's safari capital and is the gateway to some of the best game viewing in Africa, thanks to its proximity to the world-renowned Kruger National Park and leading private game reserves such as the Sabi Sands and Timbavati. It's a little town with huge character and offers a great base from which to explore the Greater Kruger region and all its amazing attractions.
Getting around
Hoedspruit is famous for its range of wonderful restaurants, coffee shops and eateries, with perhaps its most well-known - Sleepers - housed in the town's original station building where freight trains still regularly run past.
