The condo is located in Sunset Villas, a quiet safe neighborhood in West End. The condo is less than a 1 minute walk to the main strip of West End where you will find shops, more than 20 restaurants, dive shops, bars (great island nightlife), a beach, world class snorkeling, and more. You definitely will not need a car. There is a beach just across from the main strip but Half Moon Bay Beach is much better and is only a 5 minute walk or so down the road. West Bay Beach , which is the best beach on the island and one of the best in the Caribbean, is a 10 minute water taxi ride away. As far as snorkeling goes, there is great snorkeling from shore in Half Moon Bay and from West Bay. Dive shops will also take snorkelers out on their boats so you can explore more remote areas. You can also hire any of the local fishermen to take you out snorkeling as well. The inside living area of the condo is about 1500 square feet. The vaulted ceilings and numerous windows make it look much larger though. It has a large kitchen, breakfast bar, dining table, and living area all in one big open space. There is a murphy bed in the living room for extra guests. There is a large balcony off the living room with a tables and chairs. The one bedroom has a King bed and an ensuite bathroom. The other bedroom has 2 full beds. The other bathroom is accessible from the living room and second bedroom. Each bedroom also has a private balcony. The price does not include tax or electricity but does include all other fees, wireless internet, pool use, and drinking water. Electricity is quite expensive on Roatan. So Instead of charging fees for laundry, A/C , extra people, and so forth, it is easier and fairer to charge to for electricity instead. We read the meter at check-in and check-out and use the previous month's bill to determine the charge per kilowatt hour. This amount is deducted from your security deposit. We found that including electricity in the price made people want to get their money's worth by leaving the A/Cs constantly on at full blast and every light in the place on. Not only is it eco unfriendly, it meant we had to tack on an extra money to the rental rate. The price you pay for electricity obviously depends on how much you use. I have had one couple use $40 for a 2 week stay and another use $150 in a week. It really just depends on how aware you are. The internet is unlimited wireless. We are also an eco-friendly and community involved rental property. We do as much as we can to reduce our environmental footprint. We have super energy efficient ACs and hot water heaters. We use all natural, cleaning products when possible; cut down on plastic waste; have recycling and composting available for renters; support local NGOs that work on environmental and coral reef conservation; and provide eco tips and advice for guests while they are on the island. We also support several island charity groups including animal rescue groups, child development groups, and environmental groups More
