This is truly the cultural hub of Sao Paulo, where most of the city's theatres are located. It is probably also the safest neighbourhood in the city, where you can uniquely walk to all the nearby attractions: 10-min walk to the Museum of Art of São Paulo (MASP); 5-10min walk to 4 shopping malls (Conjunto Nacional, Cidade Sao Paulo, Center 3, and Frei Caneca); 5-10min walk to 6 major cinema chains (Cinemark, Playarte Bristol, Espaco Itau Augusta/Frei Caneca, Cinearte, CineSesc), as well as two independent film cinemas Caixa Belas Artes and Reserva Cultural. Ibirapuera park is 5km away, or 10min on an Uber.
Getting around
You are 5 mins from two major metro/underground stations that will take you to attractions such as the historical centre of Sao Paulo, the museums at Pinacoteca/Estacao da Luz and the Mercado Municipal (food/exotic fruit market in a historic building). Brazil's biggest and most prestigious hospitais (Sirio Libanes, Hospital das Clinicas, 9 de Julho) are also walking distance from the apartment.
