Selimiye is a lovely, quiet & picturesque seaside village that remains the epitome of an authentic Turkish summer holiday. Village life meanders along at wonderfully slow pace, with the locals out on their fishing boats or escaping the summer heat in one of the tea houses dotted along the main road. The village follows a natural curve around Selimiye Bay, with a selection of wonderful seafood restaurants and shops along the waterfront. Set on the hill overlooking the village, Villa Gelincik makes use of its natural terraces to provide a wonderful outdoor sunbathing area, covered terrace with dining table and couches, bbq, a sun-drenched infinity swimming pool, shaded gazebo areas and century old olive trees to snooze your days away under. Fatma gives the villa a daily light clean, so you can enjoy the villa in style! In 2015, the road up to Villa Gelincik was fully concreted, making access much easier. For 2016, our intention is to add an extra carpark at the front of the villa (making a total of 2 spaces)More

About the neighbourhood
Enjoy your Selimiye adventure in this unspoilt Turkish fishing village where small, fisherman’s cottages can still be found on the harbour with their white-washed walls and lots of potted plants in discarded, olive oil containers, typically Mediterranean. The village is cradled by two small bays that lead into a larger bay and peninsular with majestic mountains dropping into the sea. Walking along the harbour you will encounter small restaurants and bars and the occasional shop selling curiosities and the village offers a good selection of restaurants. The delightful, slow pace of life and relaxed atmosphere is ideal for those looking to get away from it all and is perfect for couples and families wishing to experience an authentic taste of Turkish life. You can still see half a dozen or ...
How to get there
The nearest airport is Dalaman, which is 2 hours and 15 minutes away from Villa Gelincik. Dalaman is serviced by all of the UK Tour Operators (Thomas Cook, Thomson, Jewel in the Crown, First Choice, Holidays4U etc) We recommend car hire during your stay, as the Villa is a little off the beaten track. There is also lots of coastal villages and historical sites to visit. We recommend Koral Turizm and can assist you with your car hire and/or airport transfers.
