We had been looking for a villa in a location where no driving was required; it had to be within walking distance of a bar, restaurant, beach and hopefully something to see and do. With seven of us, ranging in age from 55 to 18...More

Interaction with guests
Please do ask about any recommendations in Kalkan e g restaurants trips, swimming places, car hire, shopping etc... We have been holidaying in Kalkan for 17 years now and have good ideas of local places and services. You will be met on arrival and given the keys to the villa and there will be in the kitchen a bottle of wine , some fruit, bread, milk, and there will be tea and coffee available. We leave some items in the freezer and cupboards for emergency use and ask that you replace anything that you use , e.g. there will be pasta rice, and normal things like washing powders, in the laundry for your convenience. As this is our family home in Turkey you will find it very well equipped and the kitchen has everything you need.

About the neighbourhood
This coastline is full of amazing ancient places as it was inhabited by many civilisations and there is evidence of many cultures . Boat trips around the coast are very reasonably priced and popular and include lunch cooked by the boatman(or his mother!) For music lovers, a trip along the coast to Aspendos is a must in July where in the ancient amphitheatre opera and ballet is staged. If you enjoy canoeing there are great outings down the Xantos River which are very good fun, and include a stop for bbq lunch Shops are tempting and service is excellent .There are dozens of restaurants to choose from Tour operators are helpful and trips are very easily arranged by nearby companies, all who give very fair prices to our customers.
Getting around
You will find walking is very easy, except if you have a mobility disability as Kalkan nestles between the sea and the hills behind.. However there are taxis which can help out and take only a few minutes to reach the villa should you prefer to have one to get about .They are cheap and easily found parked near supermarkets and the town.. Some like to hire a car to drive to nearby Fethiye or Kas , but you can go by minibus (Dolmus) or air-conditioned coach from the station, which is a short walk up from the villa. For day trips, you will usually be collected by the tour operator.
