About the neighbourhood
Candolim beautiful section of beach in the continuum of Calangute has been largely overrun by tourist shops, restaurants and hotels. Nice area to stay for people interested in shopping and dining close to beach front accommodation. A bit too expensive for the backpacker crowd though.
The best way to travel in Goa is a two-wheeler. Rent-a-bike is widely available all around the area. Remember that if you are not an experienced driver or not used for driving in Asia it might be not the best idea. Helmet is compulsory only on highways, and for safety but valid driving license is a must.
Car not needed
How to get there
Airport: Babolim: 32.0 km
Railway: Madgaon/Thivim/Vasco: 38.0 km
Ferry: Betheim: 4.0 km
- If you're heading there from the Airport, the best way to travel is by a Cab, or you can ever hire a self driven car nearby the airport.
- If you're heading there from Madgao Railway Station, you can take a bus towards Panjim, and then straight to Candolim. Cabs are more expensive from Margao, because of distance.
- P.s Ola and Uber don't work in Goa.
