Making arrangements with Inna, the landlord, was very easy. She is very responsive to communication.
I ended up meeting her at the McDonald's across the street from the apartment because a) it was really cold outside, and b) the McDonald's had free wifi.
Entrance to the apartment is around the left side of the building beneath the sign for the "City Center Hostel", which operates on lower floors of the building. The "lobby" once you enter is a bit off-putting--it's dark and has a funny smell to it--but you'll only ever pass through it on your way to the elevator. The elevator is old and quirky, but I never felt unsafe in it.
The apartment is up on the sixth floor. Once you get inside, it's very clean and spacious, and it really does have a fantastic view of Maidan Square from the bedroom.
The queen size bed was comfortable but not luxurious.
The living room had a nice big sofa and an big chair.
