About the neighbourhood
Weiner Leó Street is a short, quiet street wedged in between the two major arteries of Teréz krt and Bajcsy-Zsilinszky. The other side of Bajcsy-Zsilinszky is District V, so this is a way to get District V living without the District V prices.
The street is name after Leó Weiner, a composer and one of the leading Hungarian music educators of the first half of the twentieth century. While studying at the Academy of Music in Budapest, he composed his most famous work, 'Serenade, Opus 3' for which he won numerous awards.
This apartment is one kilometer from the Hungarian Parliament building, one kilometer from St. Stephen's Basilica, 800 meters from the Opera House, 700 meters from the U.S. Embassy and Freedom Square, 600 meters from West End City Center mall, and just over a kilometer from Margaret Island, one of Budapest's nicest green spaces in the middle of the Danube River.
It is also an excellent location for convenient transit options. The Nyugati Railway Terminal is 500 meters away along Teréz krt. where you can find the M3 metro line, the 4/6 Tram which runs in a semi-circle around Pest twenty-four hours a day, and numerous regional and commuter trains.
