Please come down to the main house if you have any questions. We live on property at the main house (at the end of Saddlers Creek Road). We encourage guests to relax, unwind and do there own thing. You are very welcome to come down to the main house for advice on walks and what to see in the general area (also information in the cottages). Children may like to view pavlova the white peacock and his two blue friends, or collect some eggs from the chickens. Any questions or problems, no matter how small, please let us know.

Great place to escape. No phone service, wifi or tv, just a lovely stone cottage and a huge property with plenty of walking tracks. Owners provide eggs from their chooks and a variety of fresh herbs. We had a wonderful time here and are planning...More

About the neighbourhood
The property Gleniston is on the headwaters of the Goulburn River, Upper Hunter Valley, NSW and covers an area of 872 hectares (~2000 acres) including large areas of native forest, woodlands and bushland, with gentle creek flats rising to basalt peaks of grazing country.

The Goulburn River is a culturally significant landscape for the local Wiradjuri people, with the listed heritage sites known as 'Hands on Rock' and 'The Drip gorge' less than 5 kilometres away.

There is a range of local wineries in Mudgee and a heritage museum in Gulgong.

Airport: Mudgee Airport: 50.0 km
You will need a car to get here, but leave it parked and enjoy the walks after arrival.
The cottages are 50kms north of Mudgee, 78 kms south of Merriwa and 35kms east of Gulgong. It is about 4.5 hours drive from Sydney and 3 hours drive from Newcastle.
Turn off the Ulan Cassilis Road at Saddlers Creek Road (unsealed 2WD) – our property Gleniston begins at the second gate. It is 3.5kms to the main house, 3 kms to River Cottage and 4 kms drive to Saddlers Cottage from the Ulan road, turn at the appropriately marked cottage sign.
The Cottages are set in a small clearing in open woodlands, about 1 km from the main house, and 1.5 kms from each other. You can down load a map showing directions to the cottages here.
