2 Bedrooms , 1 Bathroom , Sleeps 4
Mudgee, New South Wales
Three 2-bedroom cottages, each set in their own bushland environment are just 5 minutes from Mudgee. Each cottage has its own road and is 40m away from other cottages insuring privacy at all times. The cottages are a 20 second walk from each other.
Enjoy our beautiful bushland setting, especially the many birds, kangaroos feeding on the grassland and even the occasional echidna and yet after a 5 minute drive you can enjoy the fabulous food Mudgee has to offer or visit some historical sites. Our guests enjoy the slow combustion wood fire during winter and the well insulated cottage is very cosy.

I disagree with the other reviewer. Clean and comfortable
We wanted to stay in the Mudgee countryside where we could getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. Took about 5 minutes to drive there from the centre of town. Woke to the sounds of birds in the morning. Enjoyed a bottle of wine around the log fire with some of the other guests. Even saw a lovely deer!
We will stay here again on our next trip to the lovely Mudgee region

Management response:

Thank you Julia for this very positive review. Staying at Kirima Cottages is about experiencing and enjoying the bushland environment and yet with a 5 minute drive you can be in Mudgee town sampling the great coffee and food. The fully insulated cottages are very cosy in winter and the slow combustion log fire creates a pleasant ambience.

Keep Looking!
This accommodation was an overpriced budget facility ...even the coffee/tea left were the cheapest available. The furnishings were from Fantastic Furniture - again cheap, nasty and very uncomfortable. Not terribly clean either - pet hair everywhere.

Whilst in Mudgee we looked around at what other places offered. So much better is available - they all offered fresh, local food provisions as part of the deal too!

Management response:

Well, what a surprise for I must have spent at least 10 minutes having a pleasant chat with you and nothing was mentioned about your unhappiness with the accommodation. I find this very disappointing. Most guests come to us for the environment that our self-contained cottages have to offer and I note nothing was mentioned about this aspect. The environment...

About the neighbourhood
The Mudgee Region has a close connection to the towns of Gulgong, Rylstone and Kandos. Gulgong was founded in the gold rush era, the first gold discovered in 1870 and around 20,000 people flocked to the area to make their fortune. A visit to the Pioneer's Museum is a must and a walk down the narrow streets give an experience of what was in its hay day. Rylstone boasts another heritage streetscape to experience. Settled in the 1830s making it one of the oldest settlements west of the Great Dividing Range. Kandos, known as the town that built Sydney supplying cement for the Harbour Bridge, has now a quirky underground arts community. Dunns Swamp (now not a swamp) is actually a weir that was built to supply water for the Kandos cement works. A great place to experience an inland water wa... more
