About the neighbourhood
The cave galleries of tuffeau stone dug out of the rocks, formerly used to build chateaux are nowadays remarkable wine cellars, mushrooms cellars or troglodyte villages. The world famous zoo of Doue-la-Fontaine nested in a troglodyte cave is a few minutes drive away. The village is located on St James trail, pilgrimage route to Spain in the Middle Ages. For an unforgettable experience, try a flight over the area in a hot air balloon.
How to get there
Fly Ryanair to Tours airport, 1 hour driving from Tours.Take the ferry to Calais, 4 hours driving from Calais.Get onboard the Eurostar. From Paris to Angers, 3 hours driving. Coming from Angers: Follow the sign Cholet/Poitiers then take the D748 to Brissac-Quince. At the roundabout at Brissac, you will see a Leclerc supermarket, take the third exit on the D761 towards Doué-la-Fontaine. Pass through the next village Les Alleuds. After the sign Saulgé-l'Hopital, exit Noyant-la-Plaine/Louerre. When you get to Noyant-la-Plaine go straight on at the little roundabout then take the first left by the telephone box, Manoir des Rosiers is the second on the right.
