The ultimate inner city stay - it couldn't have been better!
From the moment we arrived at the FitzGeorge we felt like we had walked into an old family friends home. Our Easter stay began with a gift of Hot Cross Buns, Easter Eggs and extra coffee pods! Katrina's hospitality was amazing and the accommodation lived up to all expectations.
We had plenty of room to relax in the downstairs living and dining room or enjoy the sunshine in the private outdoor courtyard. The beds were very comfortable and the upstairs bathroom was fabulous.
The location is perfect and close to all conveniences - shops, supermarkets, pubs, restaurants and a tram into the city.
We really enjoyed our 4 nights at the FitzGeorge and will be definitely be return visitors.
Thank you Katrina - it was amazing!

Great location, perfect for a weekend stay in Fitztroy
Loved this place, just as nice as it looked in the photos and just around the corner from all of the best bars and cafes in Fitzroy. Would definitely come back!

Perfect home in Charming Fitzroy
This charming two bedroom house is exactly what we wanted for our stay in Melbourne. We’d talked to the owners of Proud Mary Coffee in Portland, Oregon and first off, they said, stay in Fitzroy. We searched accommodations, both homes and hotels, and came upon this particular listing. Located down an alley with local graffiti art & charming homes, it is perfectly located in this district which is loaded with unique shops and restaurants. The location, while off Gertrude St., is very quiet, with only the sounds of birds and quiet wind noises heard when windows were open. The little courtyard is perfect for afternoon tea/wine time. The clothesline in back was a good way to dry out our bike clothes after washing. We came with a rented mini van due to the fact we had two bikes and two large bike boxes & were traveling outside Melbourne to start cycling rides, both in the Melbourne suburbs and the Vic Alps. The garage is appropriate for smaller vehicles, but we had no problem finding parking on nearby Webb street. There is a parking permit provided which we used. The property is well equipped, there is a good washer & dryer (we hung our clothes outside - it was warm!), a good pod type coffee maker and Katrina left us plenty of coffee pods along with granola to start off our mornings. The beds are very comfortable! Loved the crisp white linens. The shower was really great, especially after long bike rides. There is a small market on the corner which we used to get other supplies for breakfasts. We ate out at the number restaurants that we were able to walk to. Highly recommend Archie's All Day for breakfast/brunch (open till 3 pm) and Marion for dinner. Though the tram is close-by, we walked or biked to destinations such as the markets, St. Andrew’s, taking Uber once into town to eat at Tipo 00 (highly recommend, but it gets busy, so go early or makes reservations). The Original & Authentic Aboriginal Art gallery is an enjoyable walk and a great place look & learn about indigenous Australian art. If you come to bike, do a Sat. 'shop ride'! We went with Total Rush, the start location an easy ride from the Fitzgeorge. For suburban rides, can't beat Kinglake and the '1 in 20' to Sassafras & Dandenong Ranges.

Well located, spacious and stylish inner city townhouse
Located in narrow lane in trendy Fitzroy, this bi-level townhouse fronting the street proved remarkably well designed and spacious. The courtyard brought in light, and the garage was just wide enough for our medium sized car. All conveniences laid on, interesting art work, and close to nearby shops for local food shopping. Fitzroy an interesting area with social mix; old corner pubs intermingled with stylish new eating and drinking bars and restos. Tram stops nearby for easy access to city. If you like to be in an area with street life and buzz, then you'd enjoy this apartment. Not quite St Kilda, but certainly not the suburban life.

Fantastic base to explore funky Fitzroy and beyond
This was a perfect base for us to explore Fitzroy and beyond. It is stone's throw from Gertrude, Smith and Brunswick streets, with their funky shops and cafes and is a quick and easy tram ride to the CBD. The townhouse was a quiet haven, well equipped and comfortable for our family of three. We would love to stay again.

Excellent base for a Melbourne visit
Fitzroy is an eclectic and vibrant suburb, with a wonderful variety of restaurants and stores to nourish and entice you in. It's an easy walk to the Melbourne CBD and the tram network is convenient. FitzGeorge is a very comfortable, welcoming and well-located apartment in the heart of Fitzroy. We enjoyed our stay immensely.

Fantastic central Melbourne pad
We stayed here for over a month with four adults and two kids, 4 and 6. We loved it! The location is excellent - very central but tucked away down a side street from the traffic noise. Very easy walk to Melbourne Museum and, if you like a stroll, an easy walk to CBD and Lygon street restaurants. Otherwise trams around the corner will take you anywhere you need to go.
The accommodation is very cool, modern, well-equipped and comfortable and also surprisingly homely - it was a great base for exploring the city but also to come back to having been away from Melbourne for a day or two.
Katrina was very friendly and helpful and dealt very quickly with one or two inevitable niggles we had during our stay.
We got to pretend to be Melburnians for a few weeks and this place helped us to experience the best bits of the city.
We've love to come back and I would heartily recommend Fitzgeorge for short or longer stays.

FitzGeorge is located in vibrant Fitzroy, Fitzroy is one of the most popular shopping and dining areas of Melbourne for the locals, and only minutes from the city centre. The cafes and restaurants are fantastic and the area teams with life. It is extremely well serviced by trams and trains, including the free city circle tram that is a heritage tram that circles Melbourne city. There is also a very beautiful park nearby that houses the world Heritage Exhibition Building and Melbourne Museum.
