About the neighbourhood
Just a few suggestions for places to visit in and around Penrith

Lowther Castle, Ullswater, Keswick, Aira Force, Hadrians wall as well as Penrith's very own castle.

Getting around
We do recommend you bring your car with you to the house as it will really help you enjoy all the Lakes have to offer. However, there is plenty to do right from the door, from lovely walks, local restaurants and historic houses - why not bring your bikes with you for a true adventure? The local countryside is particularly well-suited for cycling - as well as walking, so you needn't venture further afield if you don't want to.
The 104 stops out side the house but only during term time, the bus will take you into Penrith. You can walk into town either by walking along the C2C route which goes past the house and onto a lane , or along Newton Rd, go over the M6 bridge and into town.
Both routes take around 25 mins to walk at a leisurely pace.
