This delightful cottage, set amongst the vines of the Anjou wine region, is at the edge of a village with a small general store which also sells bread. A boulangerie is just a short drive away. There are 2 large, attractively furnished, bedrooms, one with a kingsize (UK) bed and the other with two singles. There is a double sofa-bed to accommodate additional guests. The living room retains much character with original exposed beams and tomette floors. The fully equipped kitchen/diner leads out to the sunny south facing terrace complete with BBQ and dining setting where you can relax whilst enjoying the views across the countryside. The fully enclosed private pool area features a 10 metre by 5 metre pool, plus loungers and umbrellas. About the neighbourhood
The cottage is 250 meters from the village of Bouille-Loretz. In Bouille-Loretz there is a general store . Banks, restaurants and supermarkets are all available in Thouars or Montreuil-Bellay, which are 10 mins by car. There is a doctors surgery in Bouille-Loretz, or alternatively, an English speaking doctor in Cersay, just 5 minutes drive away. We are just 20 mins drive from the historical Loire town of Saumur. Between 10-15 mins drive away are the towns of Doue La Fontaine (which has an excellent zoo), Montreuil-Bellay (beautiful chateau) and Thouars which is an historic market town. All of these towns have much to see and do. The cottage is only about an hour away from two of the most popular family attractions in Europe, the Puy de Fou historical adventure theme park and the Futurosco...
How to get there
By Road: If you are travelling from the channel ports of Calais, Dunkerque, Boulogne, Dieppe or Le Havre, the new A28 offers an excellent drive to our area. The distance from Calais is about 550 kilometres (340 miles), but this will take only a little over 5 hours. If you are travelling from Cherbourg, the distance is 417 kilometres (260 miles); from St Malo, it is 290 kilometres (180 miles) and from Caen it is 300 kilometres (186 miles).
