The original stone built Carthouse is full of character, warm and cosy. The lounge has fully glazed front opening with views of the hillside. Oak and slate flooring. Galley kitchen and fully tiled bathroom with spacious bath and overbath shower. Beautiful handmade oak staircase leads up to light and airy first floor family bedroom with double and single bedstead - spectacular views. The cottage is located 12 miles inland of Aberystwyth, 20 minutes drive offering the best of both coast and country. Great opportunities for walking in nearby Hafod and Devil's Bridge, bird watching and cycling from the doorstep. Fishing nearby on the Trisant lakes - peace and quiet away from the madding crowds. We live on-site in the main farmhouse, the cottage is ready and open for guests to enter at the normal check-in time. Guests are welcome to contact us if they have any special needs i.e. later check-in time. We are happy for guests to call on us if they have any queries.

Beautiful location,great cottage,and lovely people. And God only knows where they get the hot water from....straight from the centre of the earth maybe? If all you go for is a hot bath this place is great. Thanks to Margaret and family. Sorry about the dog...More

Gorgeous cottage! Amazing value for money. The scenery was stunning. There are fabulous walks nearby and a great pub and local taxi firm. The cottage was very well equipped, extremely clean and Margaret was very friendly and helpful. We will be back.

About the neighbourhood
On the edge of the Cambrian Mountains of Mid Wales. Everything to entice a visitor to explore this county of Ceredigion. From the coastal path wander inland and explore the hills and mountains - the wonderful Elan valley all but a short scenic drive away, lush rivers and green valleys. Ceredigion is a region of Welsh speaking communities with traditional values, it has many heritage sites and trails; Strata Florida, Llanerchaeron, Ystwyth and Rheidol trails, Peaceful Places Heritage trail of churches.
How to get there
Most guests require a car as there is no direct public transport. There is a bus service that passes this way from Aberystwyth however it is not a regular service. The nearest train station is at Aberystwyth which is 12 miles/20 minutes away. There is a local taxi service which can be called upon.
