About the neighbourhood
This beautiful village has come in the top ten places to live in the country. 2017 Dunnington won 'The Yorkshire in Bloom' Gold award.(small town category). Within the village is a supermarket, post office, Doctors surgery, vets surgery, hairdressers, florists, library and Dentist. There is a C of E Church and. Methodist Church. The Cross Keys pub serves good food and ale along with the sports club. There is also a fish and chip shop. Hassacar Pond nature reserve is within walking distance and a haven of wild life. Hagg wood particularly in May when the blue bells are out is a must. There are many beautiful walks to follow not just around Dunnington but York itself.
Getting around
Park and Ride bus service is less than 10 mins away by car and idea to take you into the city centre. The number 10 to poppleton bus from the village takes you straight into the city centre. It runs about every half hour and hourly later in the evenings. The return bus is number 10 Stamford Bridge, stopping at Dunnington. Time table available in the Annexe. There are a number of car parks in the town centre if you would like to use your car
