Its central location is perfect to take advantage of the many attractions its surroundings has to offer. Just off Ireland's Wild Atlantic Way it is an ideal base for sightseeing the Rings of Kerry and Beara, the Dingle peninsula, and on your return after your days exploration chill out in the cosy sitting room in front of the stove.

Alternatively you may stop off at the local Blackwater Tavern where you can enjoy the warm hospitality, conversation, and good Guinness on offer. Here also you can enjoy traditional music and dance at the weekends.

A lovely spot to get away from it all. Cottage is well kept with everything needed for a great stay. The owner was so helpful in sorting out some - minor - issues and made us feel very welcome.

We stayed here for three nights with our two young boys. The area around Fern Cottage was our favorite in Co. Kerry. My wife took the boys for walks along the country roads while I fished for salmon and trout on nearby lakes and river....More

About the neighbourhood
Feirm Cottage lying between the towns of Kenmare and Sneem is at the doorstep of Killarney National Park where in 2007, 15 White Tailed Eagles were reintroduced. The Park is one of the worlds most scenic locations with its renowned Ladies View, Muckross House, Gardens and Traditional farms, Ross Castle, magical lakes, waterfall, woodland and pasture walks, traditional horse drawn jaunting cars. There is a wealth of other activities one can enjoy.

Climbers, Walkers:
The walking lover has a choice of climbing Ireland's highest mountain Carrantouhill on the Macgillicuddy Reeks,taking the Kerry Way walking trail accessed 4kilometers from the cottage or some of the many other local trails.
