Welcome to 'The Old End' in the peaceful village of Sheldon, three miles from Bakewell, Derbyshire in the heart of the stunning Peak District National Park. 'The Old End' is a two bedroom character cottage and is believed to be the oldest standing building in Sheldon - a building resembling the current footprint is shown on the Senior Map of 1617 and it is thought that the window on the gable end predates this. It has many original features, sympathetically restored but with modern amenities including under-floor heating, log burning stove and a downstairs toilet. Walks into the countryside from your doorstep and with a pub just up the road serving delicious food - who could ask for more? Please be aware that the property has varying levels and that the double bedroom has a quirky, low entry access which we have tried to show on the photos. In the bathroom upstairs there is a bath with electric shower above the bath. The two single beds are 3' wide. Towels and bed linen are provided and an initial supply of basic items such as logs, toilet roll, dishwasher tablets, kitchen roll, cling film, salt & pepper, cooking oil, tea, coffee, milk and sugar. Internet/Wifi is available (no extra charge) recently upgraded. It has off road parking for two cars and its own garden at the front with views towards the village and surrounding countryside. Nearest supermarket 3 miles away in Bakewell. Booking notes: We can not accept children under 5 years of age due to the varying levels. PLEASE CONTACT US PRIOR TO BOOKING WITH REGARD PETS. Should you have any questions or wish to stay for only 2 nights please 'Contact the owner' and we will try to accommodate. Thank you 'A lovely character cottage, cosy & clean & tidy. Lovely area, nice pub, everything we needed to make our get together great' 'Had a wonderful stay in this beautiful little cottage. Very comfortable bed. Great little village pub.
