What a lovely week we had staying here. Shame about the weather but that didn't affect our enjoyment at all. The gite is perfect, real home from home with a lovely outlook, very well equipped. The grounds are lovely to wonder around, the pool is...More

We have just returned from 5 fantastic nights at Le Martinet Gite, our only regret is that we didn’t stay longer! The Gite was spotlessly clean and contained everything we could possibly require during our stay, plenty of kitchen equipment and the little extras such...More

We stayed over the May half term week. We rented two of the Gites available. Both were rustic traditional French gites, both spotlessly clean with everything you would need for a stay. The owners David and Patience were accommodating at all times, always there if...More

Thank you for choosing our gites here at La Richardière. As you point out it is a very peaceful setting in the French Countryside, yet there is a lot to do in the area around us. We hope you will bring your family again.

About the neighbourhood
La Richardiere is well-placed for visitors wishing to soak up the beauty and heritage of the Loire region. As well as numerous pretty villages within a few minutes drive of our location, we also have many historic towns within easy reach.

Loches is a pretty, vibrant town just 25 minutes from La Richardière. The Logis Royal, which dates back to the Renaissance, overlooks the town from its hilltop position and is well worth a visit. On Wednesday mornings the historic town centre is filled by one of the loveliest markets in the Touraine.

Also, close at hand, is the town of Descartes. Birthplace of the famous philosopher and mathematician Rene Descartes. There is a museum dedicated to him in the very house in which he was born. For outdoor ac
Getting around
We are in the 'middle of nowhere' yet in the middle of everything. The Loire is just one hour to the north giving access to all those lovely Chateaux, and there are plenty of small, historic towns within easy reach 20-30 mins. Locally, there is a market almost every day and many attractions for families and individuals. The roads are quiet, so driving, cycling or walking are all a great pleasure. There is a Bus service which runs from Grand Pressigny to Tours.
