This one bedroom ocean view apartment is independently American owned and operated since 2000 with property management on the island. There are two separate buildings on the property. 'Irie Vista' apartment #3, is located on the ground floor in the smaller building that houses just two apartments compared to the larger building on the property that has been subdivided into seven units with up to 24 people occupancy rate. The smaller building is much quieter and has a more reliable independent hot water supply.
This is the largest and sunniest one bedroom apartment out of the three ground floor units on the property. It is the only one bedroom apartment out of all the apartments on the property that has a second entrance/exit door and patio located off the bedroom.
The bedroom has a queen size bed and a roll away twin side bed and a full size sleeper sofa in the living room area that can sleep 2 children or two small adults comfortably. The kitchen has a large refrigerator, an electric stove with an oven, blender, toaster, and all necessary kitchen cookware and dinnerware. The bathroom has a walk in shower with a sit down built in tile bench.
In order to keep rental costs low for the customer, we offer a basic rate that includes - bed linens, towels, hair dryer, iron, television, telephone, fiber optic internet service, and maid service upon checkout for week or less rentals. Longer term rentals requesting more than one cleaning a week, are subject to an extra fee.
We offer the following options for an additional $20 per day - washer/dryer and air conditioner in the bedroom. We also offer the option to order a home cooked Bajan meal during your stay. Price to be determined according to number of people and food requests. Airport pick up and drop off service is also available upon request
The neighborhood has excellent white sand beaches and this area is good for world class windsurfing, kite boarding and surfing during the winter months along with swimming. Silver Sands and Surfers Bay are less than a 2 minute walk from the apartment. Surfers Bay, a local hot spot for locals and tourists, is 200 steps from the apartment door. Surfers Bay opens for dinner, drinks, nightly bonfires and often features live music and has a spectacular ocean view.
There is a mini mart within walking distance and a larger grocery store located in nearby Oistins . Nightlife, great restaurants and stores are within a 10 minute drive to St Lawrence Gap. Taxi, bus and ZR minibus taxis stops are nearby and can take you anywhere on the island.

My wife & I once again fell in love with the island and the location of Karen's Irie Vista apartment. This was our our second year in a row staying there, and once again we loved every minute of our trip. The location is perfect if you want an authentic, local Bajan vacation. It is quiet, peaceful, and you can be as busy, or as lazy as you like.
The location is close enough to the busy areas like Silver Sands (5 minute walk) Oistins / Miami Beach (20 minute walk or 5 minute bus ride) and the Gap ( 30 minute walk / 15 minute bus ride), but also far enough away that you really do feel like a local. Surfers Bay Beach Bar (super chill vibe) is literally a 2 minute walk from your front porch, while the gorgeous. The ocean is about 150 feet away. You can clearly see the water from the unit, especially with the double porch doors opened. The view is priceless.
The unit itself is perfect, just very chill and comfortable. Good island furniture, very comfy bed, and the place stays nice an breezy throughout the night w just the ceiling fans.The place has everything you need for a stay, and is very clean.
Karen was very helpful lasy year prior to our first trip, in explaing the type of vacation her apartment offers, and she was very honest and we felt as if she wanted us to be awrae of everything and make sure this was our best option. She is very low presssure and that made us feel great with our intial booking.So now, after 2 straight years, we couldnt be more happy.We still stay in contact with Karen while we arent even talking vacation. She makes you feel lile an old ffeind, and that just how you feel when staying in the apartment.
Her caretaker, Julian, is such a great asset to have. He can arrange anything you like during your stay (authentic homecooked Bajan meals, tours of the island, rental cars, currency exchange, maintenance). We have truly become friends with he and his brother Dale, and we look forward to spendign time with them again over our next visit. We already are confirming dates for our 3rd staright visit in 2019 with Karen as we speak.
If you want a relaxed, chill, non-pampered, "come & go as you please" vacation an amazing local part of Christchurch (Southwest coast) then dont hesiatate, this vacation will be one of your favorites!

My husband and I came back a week ago after spending a week at Paul and Karen’s Kabakalli apartment. The location is ideal. It is quiet and away from the tourist areas which are easily reachable however when desired. The apartment is comfortable (hot shower, plenty of ventilation) and fully equipped, e.g. hair dryer, toaster, French press coffee maker, electric tea kettle, etc…. It comes with A/C and the bed has a mosquito net but with the fans there was no need to use either one. We managed to get around the island and engage in various activities without having to rent a car thanks to the immediate availability of public and taxi transportation. Catching the frequent mini bus or van was just a five minute walk away from the apartment, and, I must admit, it provided us entertainment… If you take the catamaran and jeep tours as we did, the companies come and pick you up at the apartment. Shopping at the local mini mart, also located at a walking distance, provided us with the basic foodstuff for breakfast which we enjoyed every morning on the front deck overlooking the ocean. In the evenings, it was a delight to sit outside again with the breeze coming through before heading over to the Surfer’s Bay Beach Restaurant/Bar for dinner, only a couple of minutes away. It is quite a picturesque hang out serving tasty fresh food, including a couple of delicious desserts, and a variety of drinks. It is so convenient and enjoyable that we chose to eat there every night except our last day. For yogis, on the surrounding grounds, there is yoga practice twice a week with Tiffany, an instructor who lives a couple of houses down. Several beautiful beaches with fine white sands and clear warm waters are nearby. Very importantly, we felt very safe both day and night . Last, it was reassuring to be able to phone Julian, the property manager, when we had questions.
