About the neighbourhood
Casa Etrela is located between Penacova and Mortagua in a small farming village called Vale das Eguas. The unspoilt valley is covered in vines, olive, pine, eucalyptus, fruit trees and vegetable grown by the local people. The village has a local bar and there are regular deliveries of bread, fish, groceries and meat into the village almost every other day.

The next village Cercosa has a couple of bars and shops and is a 5 minute drive or a 25 minute walk along one of the many forest trails.
Espinhera is a 15 minute drive and has a supermarket, takeaway and 3 restaurants and is well know for its Sunday markets where you can enjoy lunch along with the local community of freshy cooked piri piri chicken or spit roasted pork.

From A1 take the exit at junction 13 to merge onto IP3 toward Viseu/Coimbra
Leave the IP3 at Juntion 10 towards Luso/Penacova/Bucaco
At the juntion turn left towards Luso/Bucaco
At the next junction turn right to Carvalho, by the yellow Nicola restaurant.
Carry on this road until you come to the next junction bear left and take the road to Carvalho.
Go past the 1st right turn to Carvalho Velho and take the next right to Carvalho/Mortagua
