About the neighbourhood
Located on the peak of the bay of Positano, Villa del Vescovo was the residence for the Episcopal in the Baroque era in 1716 and was decorated with the best furnishings that was to be found in that period. The doors are of lacquered wood, the ceilings like paintings, the decorations in stucco and old lace, all made by the master craftsmanship of the era.

Although Positano lived through times of crisis, Villa del Vescovo was never abandoned and remained in tack with all its' luxury. Then in the beginning of the 1900's, even during the war, by accident some tourists happened to be passing by and were shocked by the beauty of the area. This is how Positano slowly attracted more and more artists and people to fall in love with the place.
Getting around
This is also how Edward Ghillausen from the Bauhaus art movement came about due to the political reasons that we well know of. Since he was a Jew, he escaped to Italy where friends sheltered him in Rome. He met and fell in love with Eva Maria Vivaldi and together they decided to hide for the rest of their lives in the little paradise called, 'Positano'.
How to get there
You may reach the villa by going up the 18th century street of the village named, Li Parlati, then crossing a little street with 118 short steps, that slowly go up, crossing a perfumed citrus garden.

If you have a car, you may park it in a public parking lot for an extra daily fee. The valet service is included.

From the villa you may reach the center of Positano in a short ten minute walk and the beach in fifteen minutes.

The villa and its' services are well maintained and taken care of.
