Holiday Rental House
In an enviable location, this wonderful conversion of two former barns offers guests a comfortable, unique, and very stylish retreat. Carleon Lodge is a conversion of two old granite and serpentine stone barns with a glass atrium ink between, retaining many of its original features which, due to the thoughtful design by the Owner and master craftsmen, will blend seamlessly with contemporary additions. Set out in reverse style, the stunning kitchen/diner will be on the first floor to take advantage of the views through a magnificent glazed gable end with floor to ceiling glass to make the most of the views towards Poldhu Cove in the distance and the lovely summer sunsets. The quality finish will continue with solid oak fitted kitchen, which will have granite work surfaces and Neff appliance...In an enviable location, this wonderful conversion of two former barns offers guests a comfortable, unique, and very stylish retreat. The quality finish will continue with solid oak fitted kitchen, which will have granite work surfaces and Neff appliances throughout. The sitting room is high up across the glass atrium link (stop and admire the stars overhead) as you walk through the magnificent massive stone doorway. This sitting area has a lower half of serpentine stone all around, and vaulted open beamed ceiling made of Douglas fir arches. The room has an inviting warm feel accentuated by a cosy wood burning stove. There are four bedrooms in total, all of which are incredibly spacious. Outside you can take advantage of the private garden, half grass and half concrete for those summer balls games, and with. Sit in the bubbling water and enjoy the spectacular stars over the dark skies of the incredible Lizard Peninsula. Accommodation Ground Floor: The main entrance opens into the glass lobby with access to the bedrooms. There is a large master bedroom with a 6' super king sized double bed in a room full of character with some serpentine stone walls. The bedroom has a separate entrance Jack & Jill style en suite to the large stone walled family bathroom. Next-door is another bedroom with a stone wall and alcove with a 6' super king bed looking out over the courtyard. Across the incredible glazed lobby are two further bedrooms, one with a 6' zip and link double or twin bed and separate bathroom access and the other ideal for children with a set of 3' bunk beds. In between these 2 bedrooms is a family shower room. A stunning staircase leads to the: First Floor: A beautiful open plan kitchen/diner views through the floor to ceiling glazed gable end with Juliet balcony across the valley and rolling countryside towards Poldhu Cove and the sea in the distance. There is the gorgeous solid oak fitted kitchen at one end with granite work surfaces and island with Neff appliances. An oak dining table seats 8 easily. Across the glass link is the stone-walled sitting room which has comfortable sofas around the cosy wood-burning stove and french windows opening onto a small balcony with two man table and chairs and rear external staircase down to the garden. Exterior: There is a private grassed and patio garden, enclosed via stock fences and wall so you might have to watch an escaped dog. There is plenty of space to relax, enjoy the hot tub and sit outside in fine weather. There is a BBQ but you will need to provide your own charcoal.
