Recently modernised to a high standard, the cottage is fully equipped to cater for all needs and tastes. The ground floor boasts a large open plan living room, kitchen and diner, with quaint wood stove and fire place as its focal point. Large double glazed windows in the lounge allows the summer sunshine to stream in and year round light whatever the season. This area has been furnished with a comfortable sofa and two restful armchairs. Should you need it, with so many things to do nearby, there is a 32-inch satellite TV and DVD player. The contemporary fitted kitchen has all the necessary modern features that holiday makers now expect (fridge-freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, electric oven, induction hob and microwave) and with the added benefit of having ample storage space to accommodate the most demanding culinary hosts (including a small pantry). There is also a large dining table that can seat up to 8 guests. Climbing the stairs to the first floor, there are 3 well-proportioned bedrooms (2 double beds and 1 bunk bed for the kids!) and a spacious shower room, which overlooks the rear garden through a small window. All guests can of course expect fresh clean bed linen and bathroom towels on arrival. The two south-facing bedrooms capture the sun’s rays throughout the longer summer days. Take the spiral staircase up another floor you have the option of using the contemporary en-suite loft bedroom, with character exposed beams and panoramic views of the surrounding countryside, with Yvignac and its Knights Templar church in the distance.

Idyllic rural retreat
Wonderful setting surrounded by bucolic French landscape. Fabulous place to stay in Brittany as so close to lots of wonderful places (St Malo, Dignan, Dinard, Mont St Michelto name but four). The house is delightful and really well equipped. We stayed there for 6 days and had wonderful weather to boot. I would have no hesitation in returning to spend more time in this lovely cottage. Communication with the owner Jonathan was very good. The house was spotlessly clean.

Idyllic country retreat
The cottage is situated in a rural setting nestled among farmers’ fields yet only a mile or so from a sleepy village which has a bakery. We found that a short drive to the outskirts of Brooms led to a spotless and well stocked supermarket and petrol station. The cottage itself is very well appointed, in an excellent state of renovation and cleanliness and of ample size for our party of four adults. It’s hard to describe adequately the sense of comfort and cosiness we experienced. Favourite day trips included Dinard, Dinan and St Malo together with the little gem of Cancalle. Above all the sense of tranquility will be a lasting memory. We found Jonathan easy to deal with and very willing to offer advice or support if required.

Peaceful country stay
Saint Servan cottage will be absolutely perfect for some while some features mean others might struggle. It's a country setting which we found perfect for our dogs and was a super-relaxed and peaceful location. It is a less than 5 minute drive from Yvignac la Tour but there was very little open in the village in the week we were there. There is a supermarket 10 mins drive away and beautiful Dinan is about 30 mins away. The house itself is nicely renovated, comfortable and super clean. It's prettier than the photo suggests :) There is a dishwasher and washing machine and the kitchen is well stocked with all the essentials for self-catering...even a coffee plunger/French press (thanks!!). We all enjoyed the large trampoline in the back yard and I imagine the fire would make the lounge super-cosy in winter. The one feature that could cause some groups some grief are the stairs which are very steep - I wouldn't think it would suit elderly or very young visitors. This is particularly true for the master bedroom. Communication in advance and during was always great and Jonathon was quick to respond and always pleasant and helpful.

Comode and silences
The location near Saint Meló and Dinar is very good to know the north coast or the Mont Saint Michelle. The house is very comfortable although the refrigerator is a little small for four people. But it is very silent, pleasant and very well isolated from the outside temperature. Also close to shopping centers. I would definitely recommend it and would gladly repeat the stay. The proprietor has always been very attentive to our queries. A great place to meet Britain

This year's summer holiday
Stayed for 5 days with friends and family in July and had a great time in this comfy cottage which is much larger and more spacious than it appears from the outside. The rural setting is an easy/manageable walk from the tiny village (or a 2 minute drive) to pick up a fresh baguette for breakfast. We had mixed weather so it was lovely to have a fire in the evening (even in July!) and we found everything in this well-appointed little house clean and new. St Malo, Mont St Michel, some lovely beaches and a water park were some of the day trips we went on in what turned out to be a fun and relaxing holiday.

Very peaceful and wonderfully decorated!
Stayed here for a week as a chance to have a relaxing holiday. And relaxing we did! Very peaceful and quiet. The house is in excellent condition with all the amenities you could need including wifi and a state of the art kitchen. There were only two of us staying there, but the cottage didn't feel too big, but I also imagine it wouldn't have felt cramped with more people. It's close to the beautiful little village of Yvignac-La-Tour and Broons and it's market and big Super - U, but a car would definitely be advised to be going anywhere further a field. We did a day trip to Rennes, Dinan and the beaches on the North coast. Also we went to Mont-Saint-Michel which was absolutely stunning. Overall a really lovely relaxing holiday which is exactly what we needed. I would definitely bring my dog and other members of the family next time!

Map
About the neighbourhood
The Village of Yvignac-La-Tour is just over a mile away and has a restaurant, which is open most lunch times, a bar and a boulangerie (open early on Sundays too). The town of Broons (10 mins away) has two large supermarkets, several bars and restaurants, shops and an outdoor swimming pool. The stunningly beautiful town of Dinan, with its medieval streets and old port (that can be accessed by foot via a steep, narrow cobbled road from the main town) is one of the must-sees in the area and can be easily reached from the cottage (20 minutes’ drive at most). The two beach resorts of St Malo and Dinard are a half hour’s drive away – both cater to the demands of tourists and travellers with many museums, shops and places to eat.
Getting around
Long sandy beaches can be found all along the adjacent Emerald Coast. Another undoubted highlight for even the most well-seasoned of tourists, is the iconic Mont Saint Michel, which really needs no introduction. Located on the border between Brittany and Normandy, a trip to the Mont Saint Michel is just over an hour and well worth it. For those wanting the attractions of the big city, Rennes the capital of Brittany, with its magnificent shops and markets is 40 minute’s drive away.

How to get there
Once you get to Yvignac-la-Tour, take the D62 which is signposted to Caulnes. You will pass the Marie's office on the way. Follow this road for about 1km (passing a small pond on the left) until you reach a small turning right with a sign post 'Fremeur'. Turn right off the main road and follow the track for around 400 metres until you see the cottage on your right. Saint Servan is the second cottage from the right.
