19th century architecture with 21st century luxury, Jacobite Lodge is a traditional stone built farmhouse full of character with possibly the best location in the heart of the Cairngorms. Family and pet friendly. I have hard wood floor with underfloor heating downstairs. There is a kingsize bedroom downstairs with an ensuite bathroom, it is suitable for elderly guests. The kitchen is a large double height space with open rafters. It has a seven foot elm table which is perfect for entertaining. There is an outdoor kitchen with a gas fired BBQ and a wood fired pizza oven. The lodge has two patios one to catch the morning sun next to burn , so you can eat you breakfast and listen to the relaxing sound of running water and birdsong. About the neighbourhood
Jacobite Lodge over looks Ruthven Barracks , as featured in the tv series Outlander. The windows to the left of the Lodge face The RSPB bird sanctuary. The village of Kingussie has fabulous restaurants. It is close to the Highland wild life park and the Highland folk museum. The back road between Kingussie and Aviemore is one of the most scenic routes in Britain. There is a whisky Distillery, Gin Distillery/ Loch Insch with it's water sports, the sculpture trail at Feshiebridge. The rivers on the back road offer spectacular wild swimming. It is close to the ski are and the funicular railway. There is a steam train which offers evening meals. In Kingussie there is a gym, a golf course and bowling green.
Getting around
Jacobite Lodge is ideally placed for touring the highlands because of it's close proximity to the A9. The Kingussie railway station is less than 1 mile away,the Caledonian sleeper stops in Kingussie. There is an excellent inter city bus service that stops in the village
