Holiday Rental House
Sarah's Cottage is a beautiful recently renovated traditional terraced cottage in the heart of Castletown, the Isle of Man's ancient capital with its narrow streets and fishing cottages. With a deceptively spacious living area the cottage has been finished to a high standard with two double bedrooms, one of which is ensuite and a study which has a comfortable sofa bed which can be made up to sleep a further person if required - please let us know on booking and we'll happily oblige. To the rear of the house is a lovely quiet, private garden which makes for a great suntrap in the summer. To the rear of the house is a lovely quiet, private garden which makes for a great suntrap in the summer. Located a stones throw from the Isle of Man airport the cottage is also close to the main bus route and the railway station is only 5 minutes walk away, making this the perfect base for those who are travelling without a car, but also appealing to the business traveller. In recent years Castletown has been experiencing a transformation with the historic town now known on the island for a fantastic range of places to eat and drink, all just a few minutes walk from the doorstep of Sarah's Cottage. The history of the town and island are illustrated in four Manx National Heritage sites in the centre of Castletown: Castle Rushen (at the centre of the town) was originally built in 1265 for a Norse king, then fortified and added to by successive rulers between the 13th and 16th centuries; The Nautical Museum (in the secret passage-filled home of inventor, politician, banker and probable smuggler George Quayle); the Old Grammar School (originally a church from AD 1200) and the Old House of Keys. The Southern 100 motorcycle races take place in July each year and start of the course start/finish is just a minutes walk from Sarah's Cottage. Kitchen/Dining area: Electric oven, gas hob, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, microwave, washing machine, dining table & six chairs Lounge: Multi-fuel stove, two settees, TV & DVD player, coffee table. Bedroom 1: Kingsize bed, bedside cabinets, chest of drawers, wardrobe Ensuite: Walk in shower, w.c., basin and vanity unit Bedroom 2: Double bed, bedside cabinets, chest of drawers. Bedroom 3/Study: Desk, Chair, Sofabed that can be set up as an extra bed if required. Family Bathroom: Bath with shower over, WC and wash hand basin with vanity unit.
