Situated on the Jurassic coast, Weymouth forms a hub for coastal and countryside exploration and is suited to all age groups. Throughout the summer, Weymouth and Portland have numerous special events and activities including those on the beach, evening fireworks displays, fishing trips, jet boat rides, tall ship sailing trips and glass bottom boat trips in the Fleet lagoon. Railway: Weymouth: 2.0 km
Weymouth is at the south west end of the mainline railway from London Waterloo with services every 30 minutes and a journey time of, at most, 3 hours. There are limited flights by a number of airlines into Bournemouth about an hours' drive away, more into Bristol and Exeter about 2 hours' drive away and many more into London Heathrow and Gatwick both around 3 hours away by road or rail. There's a good National Express coach link to Weymouth including from London and its airports.There's a ferry service from the European continent into Poole about an hour's drive away. Road access is via a link along the A354 from Dorchester and the A35/A31 main route along the south coast. Follow the A354 signs to Weymouth and then to Portland.
