We have just had another lovely week at Cider Cottage. The cottage itself is well equipped and the rooms are very comfortable as a gentle breeze passes through with windows open, so much better than the still, humid conditions at home ( I had the...More

Cider house has all the home from home comforts that you could wish to find. Also, plenty of cutlery and china. Not just 4 of each which is annoying. We first stayed at this site in 2010, and have been back to Cider cottage a...More

A really lovely comfortable cottage. The owners have thought of everything and are very welcoming. Ideal situation as very quiet but close enough to local beaches and towns. The fact it has its own private garden and bbq is a real bonus. No hesitation in...More

About the neighbourhood
Bude's fantastic beaches and seapool make any holiday here memorable. You might also enjoy walking or canoeing along its Canal or coast path, playing golf on the downs or savour a local icecream or cream tea overlooking the bay. For cooler days, Bude has the Splash Leisure Pool, Harlequinns Bowling and soft playzone. Travel inland and you could meet the otters at the Tamar Otter Park, alpacas at the Alpaca Farm at Ashwater or travel down the coast to Newquay Zoo. To the north of Bude, there are many quieter beaches and coves which are well worth a visit.
Getting around
We are in a rural spot on the border between Devon and Cornwall. Besides the glorious countryside, there are fantastic sandy beaches at Bude and Widemouth Bay, just a 15 minute drive away, a Norman castle to explore at Launceston, family theme parks and quaint Cornish seaside towns to enjoy. Visit Padstow for foodie paradise, paddle along the Bude Canal on a rowing boat, cycle along the Camel or Tarka Trails. Why not sample a pasty, cream tea or locally produced ice cream during your stay - you can even visit a local vineyard.

How to get there
From Exeter in Devon (M5 Motorway) take the A30 towards Okehampton and Launceston. Take the exit at Pennygillam Junction and follow signs for the B3254 towards Bude. You will travel through Launceston and St Stephens then Yeolmbridge. Continue on the B3254 for about 9 miles until you see a sign to the right 'North Tamerton 2 1/2' - take this road until you come into North Tamerton village, past the chapel, some terraced bungalows on the left, then you'll see the church and a red phone box. Continue down the hill for another 150 metres and turn left into Well Farm Holiday Cottages - you have arrived!
