Our 300 year old cob cottage has 3 bedrooms, sleeps 7, and is situated in a quiet village just 15 minutes from the north coast sandy beaches. The cottage is located in the quiet and peaceful village of North Petherwin. The cottage is ideal both for families - with plenty in the surrounding area to see and do during your stay, beaches, surfing, pub meals; and for couples, who are looking for a romantic break from the hustle and bustle, having quiet coastal walks or a glass of wine in the cottage garden or in front of the wood burner. The Master Bedroom has an new luxury ensuite bathroom. The detached cottage was the village Post Office many years ago, and boasts beamed ceilings and an inglenook fireplace with a wood burner and bread oven.

I thought this cottage was a couple of miles away from Launceston turned out quite a trek some 5 miles into Launceston. The nearest pub, The Countrymen 1.5 miles and a taxi to their £13-£14 each way. Taxis are outrageously prices in Cornwall. Be warned. Got back after being out all day and sat in the garden which was lovely...

I think this is a fair review of the cottage, it is old, quirky with plenty of character, and not particularly accessible on crutches! Fortunately, downstairs there is a double bedroom, wet room, bathroom and toilet, which is popular with our not so young guests! The mattresses on the beds used are brand new, however we are buying some new...

A lovely cottage in a small village. There were 7 of us and the cottage coped with us no problem; 2 double, 3 single and a put-me-up bed. The covered, outside BBQ came in very handy most nights. If you are a keen golfer you will be pleased to know that there are 2 golf courses within a 5 mile radius from your doorstep; Launceston Golf Course and Trethorn Golf Club.

The nearest public house is the Countryman, 1 1/2 miles away (30 minute walk if you like a beer or two) which has a thatched roof and serves excellent food. I also recommend the White Horse in the market town of Launceston, which is 4 miles away. The Otter Park is a 5 minute walk down the road.
The nearest beach is 15 minutes away; you have a choice of Crackington Haven, Bude and Widemouth Beach. Polzeath is only 30 minutes away!

A little further afield you will find Newquay (40 minutes, Padstow (40 minutes), Plymouth (40 minutes) Exeter (40 minutes) and The Eden Project (45 minutes).
