The Barn House at Gib Torr Farm

This historic stone roofed barn has been lovingly converted into a holiday cottage with many quirky features. Set in 14 acres of grazing moorland sheltered by surrounding forest, the building is set around a cobbled and grass courtyard. The Barnhouse, constructed in 1841, still retains many historic features including exposed roof beams, stone floors and dressed stone work. The Barn House is heated by a newly installed central heating system. There are also two wood burning stoves for when its extra chilly outside.

The barn has 1 master kingsize bedroom, 1 double room, 1 single room, 1 twin room, and a mezzanine bunk room (sleeping 2 in an open plan setting) as well as 2 double and 1 single sofa beds in the living and games rooms.

We live in the farmhouse adjacent to the Barnhouse and will usually be around to greet you when you arrive. We generally leave our guests to enjoy their holiday however can be on hand to assist with any queries you may have during your stay.

Prior to our arrival, Lynsey had answered all our questions very promptly and was extremely helpful. This is good sized, well-equipped accommodation ideal for large groups who will appreciate the spacious kitchen/dining and living spaces. Stunning walks can be found on the doorstep and numerous cosy pubs within a 10 minute drive.

The thriving market towns of Buxton and Leek are 5 miles away and are well placed for shopping and a wander round or a night out.

FROM BUXTON Take the A53 out of Buxton and after a couple of miles you will pass Flash Bar Stores and The Knights' Table pub on your left. Continue towards Leek until you come to a farm that straddles the road. Just immediately before this farm (known as The Royal Cottage) there is a crossroads. Turn right into Gib Torr Lane. Gib Torr Farm is approximately one mile down the lane on the right hand side after the forest.

FROM LEEK Take the A53 out of Leek heading towards Buxton. After approximately 5 miles you will see The Winking Man pub on your right. Take the first turning on the left after The Winking Man. Gib Torr Farm is approximately one mile down the lane on the right hand side after the forest.
