Just a stone’s throw from Calbourne Water Mill,this cottage is ideally located for exploring the island countryside. Footpaths start close to the cottage,leading to Newbridge,Calbourne,and to the downs above Brighstone. Here they link with the renowned Tennyson trail to Freshwater Bay. The quiet beaches and small coves of Brighstone,Brook and Freshwater are all within an easy drive away,while the market town of Newport and Carisbrooke Castle are also nearby.   Step into the charming lodge and into the characterful hexagonal shaped kitchen,which has been equipped with everything you could need. Cook up a storm on the electric cooker and hob,make use of the microwave and fridge/freezer,and set the slimline dishwasher to avoid those washing up arguments. There’s also a washing machine. Rel... Relax in the spacious open-plan lounge,which has comfortable seating around a TV/DVD. There’s also an attractive dining area beside a window,which looks out onto the stunning grounds. The accommodation is all on the ground floor,so you’ll also find the bedrooms here. The double has fitted wardrobes and windows overlooking the garden,and there’s also a twin bedroom. There’s a large bathroom with a shower over the bath and WC. Please be aware that there are some internal steps between rooms on the ground floor of the cottage with one step between the lounge and hallway which leads to the bedrooms and bathroom and half a step down from the hallway to the bathroom and twin bedroom.   Immediately beside the cottage is a lovely enclosed south-facing courtyard with garden furniture. It’s the perfect place to enjoy your morning coffee,or perhaps dine al fresco. Nearby there is a summer house for visitor use,while the large grounds include lawns,woodland,an attractive pond and pretty stream. Parking is available on the drive for two to three cars. More
