There is a country pub serving food just down the road along with the village playing field and playground. The local area is popular for walking and cycling, fishing on the River Nene or at Rutland Water/Grafham Water/Eyebrook. Why not watch the Ospreys raise their young at Rutland Water or keep an eye open for Red Kites and Buzzards soaring over the garden? The pretty north Norfolk coast, London, Cambridge or Lincoln can all be reached in around an hour. There are many walks from the village along the river or through nearby woods and rolling hills. The local area is blessed with several historic stately homes, pretty stone villages and market towns along with a wide choice of places to eat and raise the odd glass or two! You can keep the children entertained at the nearby farm visitor centre or steam railway (both within 10 mins) or why not try canoing/wind-surfing/sailing/rock-wall/hiring a bike or having a boat trip on the Rutland Belle at Rutland Water? Cottage was very comfortable and quiet, apart from people working on the house next door. Owners live in adjacent house and were very helpful. Garden furniture could do with a bit of sprucing up.
