Casa da Travessa is a lovely cottage located in the village centre, inside the castle walls. The house accommodated the local parish priest until late 90's.
With wonderful views to gardens and churches, Casa da Travessa has all the amenities, including bed linen, towels , shampoo and shower gel, and some drinks and food.
Stay among the locals and experience the spirit of this medieval village, one of the most enchanting and visited places in Portugal.

Great 2 bedroom house within the castle walls. Exactly as the photos show, no nasty surprises! Would recommend only taking small suitcase as the roads within the castle walls are cobbled and steep; you have to walk/carry your suitcase to the door. Beautiful place to...More

This is a lovely house perfectly located in a lovely town. It is very comfortable with all the amenities we might need. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The only way to experience Obidos. The evenings, after the day-trippers left, were magical.

Every year several hundred thousands of tourists visit Óbidos and its famous medieval Castle, classified as an UNESCO World Heritage Monument. Inside the Castle walls there's a lovely village, with its traditional white houses and plenty of protected old medieval architecture.

Obidos offers a wide choice of friendly bars, cafes, restaurants and gift shops. Obidos is famous for its 'ginjinha' [brandy flavoured with morellos]. Local handicrafts include hand-painted chinaware, aquarelle and oil paintings, painted calabashes, coloured ceramics and wickerwork-like ceramics.
