Increasingly the paths and recognised walks are being signposted and marked – often by the CAI (Club Alpino Italiano) with its distinctive red and white signs, sometimes with numbers (such as route “10” which passes Gaiche) or just red/white bands painted on trees or rocks.Remember that hunting (of wild boar, in particular) is popular and widespread across Umbria. During the hunting season (October to January) you will find groups of hunters everywhere, with dogs and 4-wheel drive vehicles.
