Only 2km away from the beautiful Dordogne river and nestled between the medieval towns of Bergerac and Ste Foy La Grande. For the golfer, about 5km away there's the beautiful and internationally renowned Chateau Des Vigiers Golf & Country Club and Spa, and Chateau Les Merles, Bergerac's technical golf course. A perfect base also for cyclists of all levels, canoeing on the Dordogne, walking, dining and of course wine tasting, fishing, visiting medieval towns, markets, caves and chateaux or just relaxing. Originally part of a working winery, this house has been lovingly restored to include all modern amenities but without detracting from its original charm and character. Still with many of its original features yet with all mod-cons for luxury and convenience. Everything you could possible need is supplied. The large open plan, ground floor provides a great social space. The dining area has been thoughtfully positioned directly in front of a full length window so that you can enjoy the uninterrupted views across the garden and valley whilst eating. Or if you'd prefer, you can always eat outside on the patio dining area. The fully fitted kitchen and utility room have all of the modern appliances and equipment that you will need. The large lounge has plenty of comfy sofa space big enough for everyone. Upstairs there are two pretty bedrooms, one with a king-size bed and one twin room. Both have large ensuite bathrooms with bath and shower. Your beds will be made up with lovely, fresh linen and we'll supply your bath towels. The grounds are away from the road and are partially lawned to play on and the rest has been left to nature for the abundant birds and wildlife that have chosen to live here amongst the peace and tranquility. They don't mind sharing with you for a while though and you'll be able to watch them when you're sitting on your patio eating your breakfast in the sun. If you're very lucky, you may even get to see 'Hiboo' our owl. That's why this house is called Grange d' Hibou, it means 'Barn of the Owl'. Your private swimming pool ( June to Oct), is approx 20ft x 11ft with a large decked area for sun loungers. For even more fun there's a large shared games room on site equipped with pool table, table-tennis, table football, games, books, music and DVDs, all of which you are most welcome to use. More

About the neighbourhood
The Dordogne is the place of châteaux and bastides, Romanesque and fortified churches, bustling markets and ancient cave paintings, vineyards, walnut trees and tobacco, foie gras and truffles; la France Profonde at its best. If wine interests you, you will of course find no shortage of vineyards in the area and most are happy with impromptu visits, otherwise you can follow the Route des Vins. St. Emilion, the UNESCO world heritage site and famous appellation, is 45 minutes away.  The perfect place to stroll around ancient cobbled streets and visit the countless  shops that sell all the world’s finest wine or visit one of the many vineyards in the area.
Getting around
The easiest and best way to see the fabulous sights of the Dordogne, as there are so many, is by car. For the cyclists we can recommend BikeHireDirect, an online, door-to-door bike hire company.
