Fabulous in every way
We stayed at Tally Ho for 4 nights and found it to be a perfect retreat to get away and charge our batteries. It is situated only 5 minutes walk from the very pretty town of Chipping Campden where we were spoilt for choice of where to eat as there are many pubs and eateries. Tally Ho is spotless, very warm and very well equipt with what we both thought was the comfiest bed and the best shower ever !. It is very quiet and very peaceful with fabulous views, especially from the bathroom window. It is in a great location to explore the Cotswolds and the surrounding areas as as much as it is tucked away, it's close to all the link roads to take you anywhere. There are some delightful walks right on the doorstep. The welcome basket is a lovely touch and Pearl and John were very pleasant and unobtrusive.

Quiet, clean & comfortable. Lovely location.
Tally Ho is a pleasant 5 minute walk into Chipping Campden. Very peaceful at night. Pearl, the owner,is very welcoming & the provisions welcome basket a nice touch. The flat was very clean and comfortable. As has been mentioned in previous reviews the sloping ceilings could be a nuisance for the very tall. There is also a steep stone staircase to the flat so not suitable for anyone with mobility problems. Aside from those two points I would recommended Tally Ho. I stayed for 4 nights and loved it. Also Chipping Campden makes a good base for exploring other towns/villages & National Trust properties.

Quiet and comfortable base for exploring Cotswolds
I stayed for 6 nights in early May, and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Pearl is a very welcoming and unobtrusive hostess, and the accommodation is well furnished and equipped. As previous visitors have commented, the sloping ceilings can be an issue but I soon got used to ducking my head where necessary! Apart from the generous welcome pack, I also appreciated the supply of good quality ground coffee. Being accustomed a daily fix of strong espresso, I found the standard of coffee served in the UK very disappointing, so being able to make a brew of plunger coffee set me up for a day in the country.

Cotswold beauty
We loved Tally Ho Cottage. It was perfectly in keeping with the charm of the whole area, cosy, pretty and peaceful. Even the bathroom looks onto a green paddock of grazing sheep. It's a very nice walk into the centre of Chipping Campden, one of the most beautiful Cotswold towns. Pearl was friendly, warm and helpful. There were thoughtful touches. I liked the fact that the towels were different colours. I've never understood why nearly all establishments give identically coloured towels, making it easy to mix them up. The interior is well-designed. The sloping ceiling didn't present a problem for us, and the kitchen appliances were sufficient for our needs.

Wonderful Stay in Cotswolds
Tally Ho was a convenient and cheerful accommodation for our one week stay in the Cotswold. Located in the charming village of Chipping Campden it was a short walk to the centre of the village, with all the shops, the pubs and inns. St James's church is well worth a look. We received a warm welcome from Pearl, as well as a wonderful welcome pack, which was very much appreciated. Some reviewers have mentioned the sloping ceiling, which it does have, but my husband is over 6' tall and he had no problems.

Comfortable and convenient
A convenient apartment for 2 for exploring the North Cotswolds. The rooms were very clean but quite small and not suitable for very tall people due to the sloping ceilings - you had to be especially careful in the kitchen and bedroom. The cooking facilities were limited to a 2 ring hob and a combi microwave / oven so fine for simple meals and heating up dishes. The mattress was rather soft for our liking but we were warm and comfortable. Chipping Campden has a small range of shops for basic needs and is an excellent centre for walking and visiting National Trust properties - all in all to be recommended as a base for a couple.

Cosy and comfortable
This small flat above the house was all we needed for our four day stay exploring the Cotswolds. I would not recommend it for anyone who is tall, as the sloping ceilings in the roof are quite low but for us of average height, it was fine. Well equipped and very warm, with central heating. It lies within walking distance of the town, has off street parking, and is very quiet at night. Very friendly welcome.

Very relaxing
The apartment is very cosy and both Pearl and her husband were very welcoming. Would highly recommend Chipping Campden as a place to visit. Very rustic, lots of lovely walks and great cafes to visit.

Good base for Cotswold way
Pearl was lovely, cosy flat, great shower and comfy bed. Shame about the flies and smell of damp. Great base for our walk.

About the neighbourhood
Chipping Campden is an historic wool town, the oldest house in the town dates back to 1380 built by William Grevel a successful wool merchant. The 15th century church is one of the great 'wool churches' of the Cotswolds. The Art and Crafts movement came to Campden from the East End of London in 1902 and flourished in the town for a number of years. We still have Harts the silversmiths working in the Old Silk Mill and visitors are always welcome in the workshop. Each year we have a Music Festival in May, Open Gardens in June which are always well attended and of course again in June our famous Robert Dover's Cotswold Olimpick Games,an historical event which dates back to 1612.
