A well equipped self catering, detached stone cottage with ground floor kitchen/diner, cloakroom with washbasin and WC. The hallway leads to an upstairs bedroom, bathroom and living room with beautiful views. Parking is available adjacent to the cottage.It is situated between Dacre and the Washburn Valley, an area designated as an Area of Outstanding Beauty, in Nidderdale, North Yorkshire. With lots of walks in the area this quiet and peaceful the cottage is a short drive to Pateley Bridge, Harrogate, Ripon, Ilkley and Skipton.Short breaks are available for that long weekend when golf, fishing and cycling are popular pursuits and available.Arrival time is after 2.00 pm and by 10.00 am on day of departure.

The holiday cottage is adjacent to New Close Farm and is a converted barn. On Google Maps enter New Close Farm for its exact position. The owners will be available on arrival to hand over the key and give a brief tour of the premises. Useful literature on the area is in the cottage but the owners are always available to give assistance.

Had a lovely stay. Beautiful location, incredibly peaceful. Spotless accommodation. Would love to stay again, perfect place to get away from it all!

I have just returned from an excellent week at New Close. The accommodation is very good. It is well equipped and everything works well. The location is excellent, beautiful countryside. Anne and Martin were charming hosts. Would love to return one day.

This cottage is in the heart of the countryside, surrounded by fields. It is fully equipped. Anne is extremely friendly (didn't meet Mike). There are maps of nearby walks, books, magazines, DVDs, CDs all there if you wish to peruse. Not too far to travel...More

About the neighbourhood
Dacre is situated on a bend in the Nidd valley with views up to the north past Pateley Bridge and south towards Ripley. Situated on the eastern edge of the Yorkshire Dales Nidderdale it is the quietest and most gentle of the major Dales. From Middlesmoor in the north down to Pateley (the capital of upper Nidderdale) and on to Ripley and Knaresborough in the south until the Nidd joins the Ouse at Nun Monkton it is a feast on the eyes with the changing scenery. Dacre is on the edge of the Nidderdale Way, a path taking the visitor around the banks of the Nidd plus countless other rights of way criss crossing the area. From the North East: Take A1 to Ripon then A61 to Ripley then riight at r/bout to Pateley Bridge. At Summerbridge take left to Otley & pass through Dacre Banks then uphill to Dacre. Opposite the chapel on your left is Dacre Lane.1 mile further on take left turn down Dacre Pasture Lane and we are first building on left. From North West: Take M6 south until Settle/Skipton sign. After A65 onto A59 to Harrogate. Go through Bolton Abbey and Blubberhouses until the left turn to Dacre and Pateley Bridge. Drive to Stonehouse Inn crossroads and turn right onto Dacre Lane.
