The house owner (John) lives in the next house along. Literally a 2 minute walk. He is always on hand, will meet and greet you on arrival and point you in the right direction for anything you may need throughout your stay. He will only see you at the beginning and end of your stay unless you contact him with a required or issue.

Very spacious, clean house for group of 8 people. Great location for croagh patrick and town of westport. Owner responded to all questions very quickly and met us on the day to ensure everything was in order. Will definitely return

Very comfortable house in beautiful Murrisk. Gorgeous neighborhood. Walk to water, Tavern restaurant, Croagh Patrick. Kids loved the ponies and sheep on property.

About the neighbourhood
Murrisk is a picturesque and historical village very popular with tourists all year round. I'm walking distance is a pier and shoreline. There is the National Famine memorial and garden, the ruins of an abbey and you can walk along the shore to Bertra Beach (sandy).
The village itself boasts two pub/restaurants. Campbell's is a very traditional old Irish 'museum' pub. It does very. Ice bar food and is at the start of the ascent up Croagh Patrick. The Tavern is an award winning restaurant - the food is Beautiful and the atmosphere friendly.
There is a visitor centre with cafe and gift shop at the foot of the mountain. There are numerous fishing trips available from nearby Old Head.
Getting around
A car is recommended however car hire is cheap. There is a designated cycle lane from Westport town linking louisburgh and beyond and the views are amazing.
There are plenty of local taxi's and we can arrange taxi's for your movements throughout the duration of your stay.

How to get there
You are following signs for the town of Louisburgh. You will naturally drive through the village of Murrisk.

When in Murrisk village (you willl know as you will be underneath the mountain and there are clear signs), you are looking for a public house on your left hand side called 'The Tavern'. It is a clearly visible purple building. There is a small single carriageway directly opposite. Take this road to the end where you will arrive at a T junction. Turn left and you will drive almost directly into Ardna Mara as the road bends around.

From Knock International Airport - Head for signs for Castlebar (N5).

Then head for Westport
Then head for Louisburgh.
