Lovely clean comfortable well equipped cottage, beautiful views and great location for exploring Caithness.Travelled with dogs, cottage perfect lovely secure garden with further enclosed area near back door. Reluctant to leave and definately hope to return

Lovely 2 bedroom bungalow. Clean and comfortable. Views from living room and bedroom are lovely. Well equipped kitchen with washing machine and tumble drier. Cooker was super fast. Huge open garden but also with enclosed garden so toddler or dog to run around safely. No...More

Lyth is small, rural community but boasts it's own Art Centre regularly showing exhibitions, theatre events and musical evenings. Rolling farmland leads to distant view under a big sky, with Northern Lights seen in the winter. In close proximity there are golf courses, beaches and picturesque harbours. If history is your interest Caithness has an extensive historical built environment from the early days of brochs to the herring industry in more recent times. For outdoor enthusiasts Caithness has walks, quiet cycle routes over forest trails and countryside with wildlife and birdlife abounding everywhere you look.

Ferry: Gills Bay, Scrabster: 12.0 km
Just located off the North Coast 500 route Lyth is situated 3 miles West of the A99 Wick to John O'Groats road, turning off at Wester. Howe Taft is on your right hand side, just before the row of cottages with street lights.

From Thurso take the A836 to Castletown, turn on to the B876 and head East. At Hastigrow follow the signs to Lyth and at the crossroads at the top of the hill drive East. Howe Taft is 1.5 miles away, after the bridge over the Lyth burn, past the street lighting at the council houses and on the left hand side of the road.
