About the neighbourhood
Just around the corner from the apartment on Marchmont Road are plenty of independent cafes and shops as well as a good sized Sainsbury's local for grocery shopping. The Meadows, one of Edinburgh's most loved parks, is a few minutes stroll away and perfect for a picnic or morning jog. If you're staying during the Festival and Fringe, then George Square, Underbelly and the Pleasance are all within a 20 minute walk.
Getting around
Princes Street, the main shopping area can be reached on foot in about 1/2 an hour and the Old Town in just over 20 minutes. Alternatively there are three bus stops within a few steps of the property which connect to all areas of Edinburgh including the airport. Bus tickets can be bought on line using the Lothian Buses app with tickets stored on your phone. A day ticket to ride on buses and trams costs £4 with a family ticket costing £8.50 for up to 2 adults and three adults. Tickets can be bought on the bus but no change is given.
