About the neighbourhood
The area around the town of Oban is steeped in history and there are castles, ruined churches and Oban is justifiably known as the 'Seafood capital of Scotland'. With a large selection of seafood cafes and restaurants you are never far from a taste of the sea. There is also a great variety of other places to eat catering for all tastes. Oban also has its own distillery founded in 1794 which is only minutes walk from the flat. For those wishing to explore the local islands and seal colonies a variety of boat trips can be taken from the Oban Times Slipway directly opposite the flat.
Getting around
Oban has a good network of public transport and there is a bus stop directly opposite the flat. There is also an open top bus which is a great way to explore the town and surrounding area.
