Its tough to find decent accommodation at a reasonable price in Aberdeen. Lighthousing it was just a beautiful way to come home - the light, the splendid views, and the fact it is still a working lighthouse made for a special visit. This place is...More

About the neighbourhood
The working lighthouse is still used to guide ships at sea. Its rotating beam is lit during the hours of darkness and gives the location a timeless reassuring ambience. The area is one of the best places in Europe to see dolphins. There is plenty of shipping traffic to observe. Aberdeen harbour is one of the UK's busiest and services the North Sea oil and gas installations. Watch out for the daily ferry service to Orkney and Shetland using ships with a very distinctive Viking livery.
