Middle Ninfa farm is located in historic and beautiful landscape in south-east Wales, close to the market town of Abergavenny, famous for its food, cycling and many other festivals. The name Ninfa means cottage of the the charcoal burners in old Welsh as the manufacture of iron was the main local industry when it was built 3 centuries ago high on the old parish road from the village of Llanfoist over the Blorenge mountain to Blaenavon. Its 23 acres of broadleaved woodland and flower rich meadows lie within the Brecon Beacons National Park on the edge of the Blaenavon Industrial Landscape World Heritage Site and immediately below the Punchbowl lake and beech woodland owned by the Woodland Trust. The bunkhouse accommodates 6 people in a converted barn adjacent to the main farmhouse. It is fully self-catering with gas cooker, microwave, fridge, shower and toilet. The groundfloor comprises the lounge and dining area with double divan and heating from a coal effect gas fire set in a stone fireplace. Upstairs on a mezzanine floor reached by a spiral staircase there are four single beds. Guests can also use the seating area beside a small pond and stream outside. Please note that we do not provide linen so guests must bring sleeping bags or duvets, towels etc As well as the bunkhouse/cottage Middle Ninfa Farm is also one of the UK's leading small camp sites with 11 pitches widely spaced around the farm meadows. Many guests come for the wonderful walking in the area and guides are available for walks and mountain biking routes direct from the farm. Guests are welcome to wander around the farm and there are signposted farm walks: a paradise for kids.More

The farmhouse has so much character! Might not be for clean freaks but you have to just accept that it’s hundreds of years old so bear with it. Absolutely stunning little garden attached to the farm house, with a fire pit and pond/mini stream running...More

Richard and Rohan It didn't just start, you accept dogs but would rather not have them. Just say in your description that dogs must always be on a leash then everyone feels comfortable. Unfortunately, your cottage was a big disappointment. The location is superior !,...More

Really enjoyed our stay as a group of 5 walkers. It's rustic, but great location and we were looked after.

We came here for a quick break with our daughters who were keen to do some "wild camping". The campsite is brilliant for that; only 11 pitches scattered amongst woods and fields so that there is complete privacy. The facilities are basic, but that added...More

About the neighbourhood
Our website gives links to a few of the activity providers in the locality. Hang gliders and paragliders regularly float over the farm when the wind is from the east. There is caving nearby and a large cavern called the Lamb and Fox lies directly underneath the remote pub of the same name which features as a destination in our most popular walk from the farm. If it's very wet, you can go indoor bouldering in Abergavenny or enjoy an underground tour of the colliery at Big Pit in Blaenavon in the company of english speaking ex-miners with wonderful senses of humour. As many of our regular guests will agree, it takes a long time to run out of new activities to do here. You need to book a long time ahead if you want the bunkhouse for the Abergavenny Food Festival in September or the internatio...
